This covers pycnavratri.com, booking passes for PYC Navratri 2026 on this website, and booking them on WhatsApp. If anything here is unclear, ask us and we will explain it in plain words.
Booking on the website
The booking form asks for your name, your WhatsApp number and, if you want, an email address. There is no account to create and no password. The number is checked with a one-time code sent to it on WhatsApp, so a pass cannot be booked to a number that is not yours.
We use these details to issue your pass, to send the voucher to your WhatsApp, to find your booking when you ask about it, and to stop abuse: the code service limits how many codes one number or one connection can request, and for that it keeps a hashed form of your connection address for a short while. The email, when you give it, goes on the booking so we have a second way to reach you, and is used for the advertising measurement described below.
A booking exists only when a payment succeeds. If you fill the form and do not pay, we keep the verified number and name as a lead for this season and delete it with the season’s records.
Booking on WhatsApp
Passes can also be booked in a WhatsApp conversation, and the details you type there are handled by WhatsApp (Meta) the way any WhatsApp chat is. On our side we keep the number you message from, the name you give us, what you booked, and whether it is paid. When you open that chat from a button on this site, the first message carries a note such as “via website” so we know the chat started here.
That is what issues your pass and gets you through the gate, and it is how we find your booking when you message us about it weeks later. We do not sell it or pass it to sponsors. Passes for children are booked by an adult, and a child’s details only ever reach us through that adult.
Payments
Payments run through Razorpay. Your card, UPI or netbanking credentials are entered with them and never reach us. What comes back to us is whether the payment succeeded and a reference for it. The order we create with Razorpay carries a note of which campaign, if any, brought you to the site, so we can see which advertising works without looking anyone up.
Analytics and advertising measurement
We use Google Analytics to see how many people visit, which parts of the page they read and how far the booking form gets. It sets cookies and collects the usual measurement data: an approximate location from your IP address, your device and browser, the pages you open and how long you stay.
We advertise this festival on Meta (Facebook and Instagram) and on Google, and we measure whether those ads lead to bookings. For that the site carries the Meta Pixel and Google’s tag, which set cookies (the same Meta Pixel also counts page views on our juke box, garba.pycnavratri.com, and our planner, plan.pycnavratri.com), and our own server reports booking events (a verified number, a checkout started, a payment made) to Meta’s Conversions API. Identifiers sent that way are hashed first: your number and email are turned into a one-way code before they leave our server, so Meta can match them against its own accounts but cannot read them from what we send. We also record the campaign tags on the link you arrived by (the utm_ parts of the address and any ad click id) and keep them with the booking, for up to 90 days in your browser and with the booking record on our side.
When you tap a WhatsApp button on this site, the message it opens carries a short reference code (for example “ref K7M2QX”), and we keep that code with the same campaign tags. If you then book in that chat, the code tells us the booking came from your visit, so the ad that brought you is credited with it. The code is random and means nothing on its own; you can delete it from the message, and the chat works the same. Codes that are never sent are deleted after 30 days.
If you would rather not be counted, your browser’s privacy settings and content blockers stop these tags, as does Google’s own opt-out add-on, and Meta’s ad settings let you switch off ads based on activity on other websites. Booking still works if you do.
The aftermovies are YouTube videos. Their thumbnails come from YouTube’s image server, so it sees a request when the page loads. The video itself starts only when you press play, and it plays through youtube-nocookie.com.
The site is served from a server we rent, which keeps ordinary access logs, including IP addresses, so it can serve pages and block abuse.
Photos and video on the ground
We photograph and film across all nine nights, and that footage shows up in reels, the aftermovie and next year’s material. On a ground this size you should assume you may appear in a crowd shot. If a specific photo of you is up and you want it taken down, message us and we will remove it.
Who else touches your information
Four companies, each doing one job: Meta for WhatsApp and for measuring our ads, Razorpay for payments, Google for analytics and for measuring our ads, and the company whose server hosts this site. Each of them gets only what that job needs. Beyond those, we share your information when the law requires it of us.
How long we keep it
Booking and payment records stay for as long as we need them to run the season, answer questions afterwards, and meet our accounting and tax obligations. Verified numbers that never became a booking go with the season’s records. Campaign tags stored in your browser expire after 90 days. Analytics data expires on Google’s own schedule. When we no longer need something, we delete it.
Your say
Write to team@pyccommunity.com and you can ask what we hold about you, have it corrected, or have it deleted. Say it from the number you booked with, or tell us that number, so we can find the right record. We will come back to you, and if you are unhappy with how we handled it, say so in the same thread and it goes to the organisers.
If this page changes
We will update it here and change the date at the top. The version on this page is the one that applies.
